Faro Train Station, located not too far from the heart of the city, is the main railway station in Faro, which is operated by Comboios de Portugal. The station opened in July of 1889 and since then has had a long history of being reconstructed to better suit the surrounding cities and towns that were still in the process of being fully operational.

How to get to the station?


The train station is about 5.5 kilometres from the old town center, which is just outside Ferreiras. To review your options of getting to the train station see below:


  • Bus: you can easily catch a bus to get to the Faro Train Station as it is located close by to 3 bus station. Some of the buses you can catch are 1,3,16, and 18 and the fare only costs €2.25 if bought directly from the bus driver.

  • Taxi: catching a taxi to the train station from anywhere in Faro is an easy and inexpensive way to get there. The taxi start tariff is €3.00 which goes up by €0.50 for every kilometre thereon wards.
